Pediatric neurological illness becoming more common, San Antonio doctor says

A local neurologist is warning families across the state about a neurological illness she says is becoming more and more common. She says new research is making the disease more treatable. The names sound funny but one local doctor says the experience of this disease is no joke. "We coined the phrase ‘brain on fire’ meaning the brain has intense neuro-inflammation," said Dr. Suzanne Gazda, a neurologist. She says PANS and PANDAS is brain inflammation caused by an auto-immune disease.
